A Pap smear is a simple screening test for cervical cancer. Available at AG Lifecare Clinic in Taman Setia Tropika, Johor Bahru, it checks for abnormal cells on the cervix that are cancerous, precancerous, or associated with certain infections — allowing early detection when treatment is most effective.
What It Can Detect
- Abnormal or precancerous cervical cells
- Early signs of cervical cancer
- Certain infections and inflammation of the cervix
Who Should Consider This
- Sexually active women, generally from age 21 onwards
- Women due for routine cervical cancer screening
- Anyone advised by their doctor to repeat or follow up a previous Pap smear
- Women who have not had a Pap smear within the recommended screening interval
