An electrocardiogram, or ECG, records the electrical activity of your heart to check for irregular rhythms, signs of strain, or other abnormalities that may not be obvious from symptoms alone. It is a simple, painless test that takes only a few minutes but can reveal important information about your heart health. AG Lifecare Clinic offers ECG testing as a standalone service or as part of a broader health screening package, making it easy to add heart monitoring to your routine checkup. This test is especially useful for patients with a family history of heart disease, those experiencing chest discomfort or palpitations, and anyone returning to regular exercise after a long break.
During your ECG, small sticky sensors called electrodes are placed on your chest, arms, and legs to pick up the electrical signals from your heart. You will be asked to lie still and breathe normally for about five minutes while the machine records your heart’s activity as a wave pattern. The procedure is completely painless and does not involve any needles or radiation, making it suitable for patients of almost any age or condition. Once the recording is complete, our doctor reviews the results with you and explains what they mean, and if anything unusual is found we can advise on further tests or referral to a specialist.
An ECG is often included as part of our health screening packages, alongside blood and urine testing. See our full range of services or check our pricing.
Many patients combine their ECG with a lung function test or body composition analysis for a more complete view of their heart and overall fitness.
